Inspired by the simple aesthetics of a floating boathouse or lakefront cabin; a pair of gabled buildings clad in rough sawn cedar wood and topped with a solar shingled roof.

The lakefront home is a simple retreat with windows and doors oriented to frame the dramatic surroundings and views of the lake.  A calm, sculptural expression - maintaining a simple symmetry and a balance between the transparent and the monolithic. 

Honest & humble, materials age gracefully and blend effortlessly with the surrounding nature and woods. The interior palette is deliberately restrained in ecru tones and the landscaping is minimal and honest to the local hearth; defining pathways and framing moments of the building, allowing it to sit gently within its surroundings over time.
